Britt's Trek Adventure:

I went t0 trek and the first day wasn't to bad. it was my favorite day. and the second day was super hard but my "ma and pa" were the Ashton's and my "sisters" were karli bird, Marcel beezer and Paige kelsey and my "brothers" were, Austin wood, miles mccune, dillon workman. and the second day, we woke up early and ended at like six pm. had dinner then went to bed. later when it got closer to home we had the woman's pull and it was sooo hard to do. it was up a long steep hill and the guys were at the top. i wanted to give up so bad but i didn't.
when it got to the last day everyone was soo excited to go home! i was as well and when i got home it was me and Aaron and i talked to him for a while but then later i took the longest shower. we were all so dirty. i don't know how the pioneers did it. id be the first to go. haha but being home was the best i was so glad to be home and not walking all day i was exhausted. id be so hard to be a pioneer.

New Faces, New Places! Ward and Memorial Park

Picture taken along the road to beautiful Memorial Park where the country side is out of a novel, and the Redwoods are taller than my uncle
Sam

Above: Dorthy 86 years young!, Lisa the Primary President and Patriarch's wife, and Suzie, the gospel doctrine teacher, and a friendly, sharp person.
Middle: the cute missionaries and their investigator family they brought to the picnic. all Spanish speaking. That made it
a little tough to visit.
Bottom: More scenery shot as I zoomed along in the car.

We had a lovely time amidst the tall redwood trees, and the kind, unassuming ward members.
The bishop only made a short appearance because he was working the parks. I asked him Sunday how his day at work was? He said eventful since there was a UFO sighting! Got to love his stories. Sighted was a black object hovering above the cost line when it turned into a bright light. Then flew across the shore horizontally and then reportedly crashed into the mountain terrain.
FRAN
Hit the road to Oakland CA the Oracle Stadium which about one hour away. That means the Temple is too! It's a Friday night and I'm ready to try something new and fun! Well, so I still have a bit of Rocker girl in me from the good "old" days.
I found the crowd way fun to watch! Maybe as fun as the concert? Hmm I guess there are a lot of 40 to 50+ year old Rock fans in the area. There was a large young crowd as well. The arena had seating for 19,2000 people. This was a nearly packed stadium which made the atmosphere explosive.
The curtain rises and out comes Steve Tyler! Wow! He came out in a black sequined long tail tuxedo style jacket ( I mean Long), His trademark top hat with white trim, black and white cheetah sequined pants and I think zebra sparkle vans! His long hair perfect color, his energy immense. And I must say quite fit for a man born in 1948! He performed like a 30 year old. His moves were smooth and right on. He never seemed to slow down for two hours. I kept thinking is he on drugs? Maybe the Michael Jackson syndrome? Or how in the Sam hill did he do it? He was in well, quite good form and a pleasant thing to watch. I had to confess to James and say " you know He's kinda cute!"
Only downer was he didn't perform enough old hits. He was promoting new stuff
that wasn't familiar to me. But just watching him inspired me. You're only as old as you believe.

Half Moon Bay Ward

OK, Time to take care of the Elders! Twice we have tried to have them over to dinner. Finally they are coming Monday.

Oh boy there is the Bishop! Remember he carries a gun! Mr.
Parks Ranger/lifeguard/Bishop

I've been here one week and they have called me to be the
first counselor in the Young Women's presidency. It's a small ward and it's good to feel needed. The ward boundaries are huge, and include two different High Schools. And lots of scary highway one driving!

Had the missionaries to Dinner. I made past with chicken and artichokes, cheesy garlic bread, salad and my banana
cream cake dessert. Britt was a big help.

These Elders have very interesting stories! One is originates from Venezuela, now in Orlando Floriday. The otherElder's family is from Miami, originally from Columbia where they both left for political safety. Way cool as well as brave boys. Poor Elder Sanchez has only been here 3 weeks and is the first missionary in their family. He's a bit homesick:(
Dear Elder Navarro said we are similar to Lehi's family having to leave so much behind. And he said he felt there was a purpose here for us more then just a job. I said "I hope so!" We hadn't talked about the move to him. That came from his observation. He read some scriptures and then told us about the numerous less active families in our neighborhood. We had no idea they were here. We hope we find them!
FRAN

Shipped Britt off on a Jet Plane for Trek with the Draper Stake. I at least got to the airport safely, and made it through security in one piece. Had to be patted down through ex ray but I did it. I felt way lonely sending her off alone.

SATURDAY IS A SPECIAL DAY!

As we leave Half Moon Bay on the weekends, cars are streaming bumper to bumper into the Valley. Beach time for them, zoo time for residence of Half Moon Bay! One way in, One way out!FIRST SATURDAY
We had lots to do! the bank where was first on the list. We saw our Bishop dressed in a uniform. Britt and I looked up, down, left, right to see what in the heck he was. A policeman? A Highway patrol? No He has a surf board and a star on his truck? Hmm a parks ranger, and a life guard for the beaches. Then we here around here it is even a more dangerous job than the police! He does carry a gun! Watch out Britt!

Next the Farmer's Market. We bought flowers, flavored almonds, zucchini,
and yummy bakery treats. The people were way nice to us. That seems to be how people are around here, refreshing:)

Then onto the Mall! Not as good for teens as Britt would have hoped, but it had Boudin's bakery for me and their tomato soup!
Britt was good until I said no to buying Jeans today. Then
the broodster came and replaced my sweet little Britt. Overall it was short
lived. (Thankfully)

Saturday me mom and dad drove up to the food market in our town. things there were good price and everyone was kind to you. it was fun to see.

Mall after we got done at the farmers market we went to the mall and they had a good amount of stores. different people then you see in utah ill say.
but mom wanted pictures of things and as we walked past some high school boys mom wanted to ask them if i could get a picture with them.. NO... that'd be pretty funny but super awkward.

Yes, our adventure started long ago. Actually almost one year ago. We finally made the move!
First major step, (fly Bent to California) Busy,Busy day. in between Jon MIller's wedding, and reception and stuff stuffed in the middle was getting Bent to San Francisco Airport. The price tag for this
move was a mere 250.00. As much as a human passenger. Britt and I took him out to Delta Cargo mid 90 degree temps, and airport detours. We had to walk two blocks with Bent in hand along with
his carrier. Hot, long, heavy. Bent couldn't
fly if the temp. was above 85 degrees. It was hot and we really didn't want to leave in him Lehi with the older kids. They wouldn't appreciate his extended visit. The agent put some ice in his water cut as Bent cried mercifully to be let out. The weather report read 86 degrees at flight time. The agent accepted him since his flight was to a cool 65 degree San Francisco. And off Bent flew. When he arrived he was thrilled to see James. And he loved exploring or new X5 BMW. He has been able to have freedom running round the house because of the hard surface floors and is very, very happy. He loves the rides along Highway 1 with the crisp costal air. Without Bent this adventure would have been even more lonely for Britt and I.
FRAN

So my mom and i were off to Delta Cargo with bent in the car with us, he loves his car rides he thinks its super fun and loves to look out the window clueless of where we are headed. So me and my mom are at the airport now, and we could not find the delta cargo beca
use roads were blocked and the airport is HUGE.. So it got to the point where my mom parked somewhere and asked someone. They said, "you can either go all the way around and to the cargo or walk threw the blocking of the road" basically is what they said so .. yes we tried going around and it led us to a dead end! we were lost and had the GPS playing and soon enough we went back to the cargo place and i had bent and mom carried the Kennel. the temp. outside was 100 and very hot! but we did finally get to delta cargo! bent had to get in the Kennel and was starting to panic and already missed us.(: but mom and i had to leave him there and he did land in California with daddy! Bent was very excited to see a familiar face.
Bent is a really cool dog until he barks but i love him. mom and i also just love having him with us because he is our friend(:

Lemons And Our Lemon Tree! (the first three days)

When life makes gives you Lemons make Lemonade!
The airplane landed
about 11:00pm. But
that didn't change or excitement. Dad was coming. We got our luggage and waited excitedly to see dad James. And if I knew dad he would bring Bent as well as the new car. All these things I was excited to share with Britt. There they came driving up to get us on the airport curve. I 'm not sure who looked more like an excited puppy, James or Bent? When Bent saw us out the window he went crazy with wiggles. Can't really say that James did that! As we loaded in the car Colby Caillat was playing like smooth beauty. When I hear her I will forever think of that moment. A moment filled with forward hopes, and deep losses. And yet for James and Britt I would do my best
to be strong and faithful.
Britt had a "I'm here and I'm lonesome" moment when she first walked in. She became broody and quiet. Even when dad showed her he bought us a new computer. I felt bad for dad and Britt's response to everything. Actually I felt bad for myself! I worked hard to get the house in beautiful shape. I wanted her to love it. Britt felt a little nervous in her new room. But there comes Bent to the rescue. Sleep is a miracle worker and as the morning was bright so was Britt.
We headed up the hill to Target etc. for things to get the house and Britt organized. After a good $600.00 at Target We were done! Going down the canyon to Half Moon Bay Britt hung on for dear life. Only to ease up when I said we are down the worse part relax! She said she was stressed because she was thinking of her having her license and driving down that canyon herself. Ya that terrifies me too!
Day two, Good things: The beach,(getting soaked by the evening tide) Young women's (meeting wonderful, fun, people) (Having a convert Alejendra befriend Britt) even though she is 17 years old. And the only one who went to Half MoonBay High School. The other's are from Pacifica. Hard things: Grocery shopping (Britt's melt down) (my missing Harmon"s)
Day three, Good things: Well? (cooking again) Hard things: ( Britt had a total melt down for the day.) (By the end of dealing with Britt's melt down, Mom went to bed and had a melt down.) I was ready to pack my bags!
Day four, Good things: (We bounced back.) (Britt apologized many times) (dad, James) We had a great day!
We decided to do a blog while shopping at Good Will. Our first not D.I. thrift store. We had lun
ch at Mimi'sin San Mateo. Had a great dinner. Then hit the beach with dad until evening. Hard things: Well poor me fell down a steep hill gong to the beach and rolled several times on r
ocky land. But only a little BooBoo as well as being stiff this morning. I'm a survivor! FRAN

We landed! heres the night of a new beginning! me and momma are waiting at the airport for daddy. we see him with bent and he helped us with our bags. i was excited to see dad but when i got to my new home i was upset becausei realized i will be alone for quite sometime. i loved the look of the house and how improved it looked. mom and dad did a really good job putting it together. Dad surprised us with a new computer i was happy and loved it but i did not show much emotion because i was to focused on the fact that ill be lonely.. i felt really bad about not showing dad how excited i was. the next day,
(day two) i got my bathroom all put together and put my clothes in my new closet and it was fun to have it all to myself. that night me and mom went to (young women's) i met a convert named Alejandra who was 17 and she asked me for my number so we can hang out sometime. made my day. haha(: then (day three) came and me and mom went to lunch then grocery shopping. still was feeling lonely and gloomy.
i went to good will to drop off some old things of ours and decided to go in for the heck of it(: me and mom had fun and looked for some clothes to see if we could find any. i got a hesh looking sweater and thought itd be fun to have(: and i think mom got a dress.
went to mimis and it was fun. then later went to the beach. mom and dad went walking along the beach away from the water. of course i went in the water and was having fun being with the waves wearing shorts and let the water get to my mid thigh so no i didnt get soaked. but enjoyed seeing the sunset and water crash on the rocks.
